Coaching 101

Coaches' Code of Conduct

Your first concern at all times is the physical and well being of all soccer players.

1.    Know the Laws of the Game (FIFA) and club rules.

2.    Respect referees and assistant referees and do  not question their decisions, concentrate on coaching rather than on the accuracy of the referee's decision.  If you have a problem with the ref's calls, discuss it calmly with them during the halftime break NOT in the middle of game play.

3.    Teach you team to play fairly and within the rules.

4.    Set a good example for your players and supporters.

5.    Respect all players and parents.  Never ridicule or embarrass them.

6.    Respect you opponents.  Never ridicule or embarrass them.

7.    Control you team and sideline.  You are responsible for the behavior of your team and supporters.

8.    After the match, offer congratulations to your opponents.

9.    Follow all club rules and promptly report game scores.
