Summer Waecker, Courtney Waecker, and Laura Keating participated in the Prairie State games in Alton, Il over the June 23rd weekend. They were chosen to represent Will County and part of Cook County at this annual tournament. The tournament allows teams from different areas to compete against each other. They were the first Willco girl's team to ever win a game at the tournament. It was fun, a good experience, and gave the girls a chance to play soccer on a team with players from other high schools. Laura Keating received the freshman offensive award for the high school spring season. Elite
Soccer Training will be using the LWSC hotline to report any training
cancellations caused by weather. We would also recommend that individual
teams set up a phone tree so that everyone does not try to call the hotline at
once. As a reminder, the hotline number is 773-298-0551 and the training
mailbox is 116901. We used 38 referees for our spring season. Of those, 21 were new referees that received certification at our February class. Thank you all for a job well done! Referees: If you are a Licensed Referee, belong to the Lincoln-Way Soccer Club, and are interested in being a referee or assistant referee for any of our Club's matches, please call Steve Waecker. Players, Parents and Coaches: The Lincoln-Way Soccer Club is assigning many of our players, who are newly Licensed Referees, to work our home matches. LWSC encourages all of our players to get their Referee License, as this will help to give them a better understanding of the game as well as give them the opportunity to earn some money doing something they love. Please, let's give them the respect they deserve. If players, parents, or coaches give them a hard time, they will not be back next year as experienced and knowledgeable Referees! When our Referees call a good game, tell them you appreciate the job they have done. We have some of the best Referees in both Leagues! When teams come to play us in Frankfort, we want them to leave feeling that LWSC gave them a competitive game, on good fields, with fair, high quality officiating. We also want our fans to enjoy the game in a true sporting manor; saying positive, encouraging words to all players that they do their best!
